More of Missouri will be going to work as a result of legislation passed in Jefferson City. Rod Petersen has more from the State Capitol.
The Senate approved welfare reform as part of the federally-funded program which states must make law to receive money.
The Senate has been debating the bill for the past week.
Bill sponsor, Joe Maxwell, says that the Senate felt a commitment to move in enacting welfare reform.
The bill now goes to the full House for approval.

Welfare reform passed in the Senate will begin to move people from welfare to work.
Under the legislation welfare recipients are limited to five years of total lifetime benefits.
The bill would also require them to begin working within two years.
The legislation now goes to the full House for approval.
