In the midst of all the excitement generated by the succesful cloning of a sheep, Missouri lawmakers are urging people to proceed cautiously. Jung Wha Yoon has more from Jefferson City.
Almost 30 representives are sponsoring a bill that would prohibit the use of state money in human cloning research.
One of the lead sponsors, Jefferson County representative Marilyn Edwards-Pavia, say she wants researchers to stop and think about human cloning....because it has deep ethical as well as medical implications.
Chamois representative Merill Townley says he is not opposed to the bill but thinks legislativley stopping human cloning will be very difficult... because he says once the knowledge is there, somebody will use it. From Jefferson City, Jung Wha Yoon.
