For another year, a Columbia Senator leads the effort to halt the banning of partial birth abortion.
Beth Bentley has the story from Jefferson City.
The Missouri Senate began what is expected to be a long debate on whether to ban partial birth abortion.
Bill sponsor Republican Peter Kinder says the procedure is inhumane and should be bann under any circumstances.
But, Columbia Senator Ken Jacobs says banning the procedure is unconstitutional.
Senator Jacob is taking the same stance as former columbia senator Joe Mosley who led Senate opposition to anti-abortion legislation during the last few years.
Jacob says he has a lot to talk about when the debate resumes Monday.
From the state capitol, I'm Beth Bentley.
