Six words stand in the way of the Missouri House accepting a health budget. Kelly Just has that story from Jefferson City.
Because the words "From General Revenue" did not appear on two line items in the health budget, the measure was rejected by the Missouri House.
St. Louis County Representative, Dave Reynolds pointed out that programs for pregnant women, including alternatives to abortion were not covered by any governmental source.
Reynolds suggests that without a mention of the general revenue fund, the 1-point-5 million dollar services will never be implemented. Representatives voted to send the bill back to conference and to keep rejecting the budget until the missing six words are added.
Legislators must meet a Friday deadline to finish all budget deliberations.
From Jefferson City, I'm Kelly Just.
