Missouri auditor and Republican hopeful for governor Margaret Kelly faces claims she buried auditing problems because of her political connections.
The charges first surfaced last November when a former auditor claimed Kelly did not report a cash diversion scheme or a cash shortage.
That former auditor, John Williams, has filed federal and state lawsuits seeking to get his job back.
Kelly says the charges are politically motivated, but Clifford Faddis, Williams' lawyer, disagrees:
Faddis says he is still waiting for a legal response from Kelly.
No court hearings will be scheduled until he receives that response.
