SS HCS HB 604 Sponsor:Henderson, Mike Status: GOVERNOR SIGNED Description: Establish requirements for schools determined by the Education Department to be in need of improvement. Require such a school to establish a comittee to hire an "independent school turnaround expert" to help draft a plan for changes. The Senate added provisions exempting schools from having to have make-up days for up to six days lost because of weather, requiring the Ed. Department to develop rules on higher education dual-credit programs and other unrelated education provisions.
