Four billion more dollars estimated for healthcare in Missouri under Graham-Cassidy bill

Missouri is estimated to receive four billion more federal dollars for healthcare under the most recent proposal in the United States Senate

Wrap: Missouri is one of only sixteen states estimated to see anincrease in funding. All other states would see a decrease in federalhealthcare funding according to the report.

The estimate is for two-thousand twenty to two-thousandtwenty-six as compared to the Affordable Healthcare Act. 

Healthcare consultant Avalere authored the report and it wasfunded by a liberal think tank called the Center for American Progress.

Missouri Senator Roy Blunt is a cosponsor of the amendmentand is expected to vote in favor. All Senate Democrats, including ClaireMcCaskill have pledged to vote against the Graham-Cassidy measure due todrastic overall cuts to Medicaid and loss of protection for Americans withpre-existing conditions.
