Intro:
The main Missouri retirement fund would have to divest itself from one of the state's largest businesses under a Senate-passed terror law.

Wrap: The bill denies the state, and any of its subsidiaries, from investing in companies contracting with states that support terrorist groups.

Democratic Floor Leader Joe Keaveny, from St. Louis City, said the bill could hurt Missouri's businesses. Boeing has a large presence in and around St. Louis County, and is reported to be competing for contracts with Iran Air.

Description: If they bid on that contract and get it, then all of our state pension funds are going to have to divest themselves from this documented company if this passes? That is correct.
The bill sponsor who answered Keaveny, St. Louis County Senator Eric Schmitt, said the bill is necessary to prevent Missouri funds from helping terrorist groups.
