Missouri House Speaker admitted Thursday that the religious freedom measure will not go to the House floor.
RunTime: 0:44
OutCue:  SOC

Wrap: The measure would have allowed religious organizations to refuse goods or services to same sex couples. It failed in the House Emerging Issues Committee on a 6-6 vote, where three Republicans joined the committee's Democrats in voting nay.

Speaker of the House Todd Richardson said he could not see the bill being resurrected this session.

Run Time: 00:08
Description: I said at the beginning that I was going to let the process work. The process operated here and the bill didn't have enough votes to get out of committee.
Democratic Representative Gail McCann Beatty thanked Richardson for allowing the process to work untampered.

Because the committee vote was tied, the Senate resolution would need 82 votes in the House for it to be restored.
