Nixon releases 43 million, vetoes first bill of session

Firefighters, public defenders and schools will see additional funds after Nixon releases 43 million in withholdings.

Wrap: Nixon told reporters the decision comes after an increase in revenue.

The decision frees up five million in funding to fix state owned buildings, almost three million that'll go towards local libraries and one point five million towards pre-k education.

However despite the increase in revenues, the governor said he's still unable to release millions still being withheld.
