Wrap: Representative Andrew McDaniel sponsored a bill that would allow families to place a monitoring device in nursing home rooms.

McDaniel says some patients develop bedsores from not being rolled over right and are left to sit in their own fecal matter.

Run Time:  00:12
Description: And you probably hear the horror stories of people fondling grandma and stuff like that. We don't want that. We want them people taken care of and hopefully that we get rid of them tough people and the other healthcare workers that are doing their job, they have nothing to worry about.

The Missouri Association of Nursing Home Administrators declined to comment.

Wrap: Representative Andrew McDaniel sponsored the bill.

Actuality:  MCDAN2.WAV
Run Time:  00:10
Description: Basically I've had a constituent call me and talk about different things about people with bedsores, not rolled over right, and stuff like that. And lying in their fecal matter.

McDaniel says if two patients share a room then both will need consent before a monitoring device can be installed.
