Wrap: The Missouri House passed a bill to require law enforcement officials to seek approval from the legislature if they decide to purchase a vehicle with a price tag of one hundred thousand dollars or more.

This comes after the Highway Patrol used a special fund earlier this year to buy a 5.6 million dollar plane for the governor.

But Democratic St. Louis City representative Mike Colona says this legislation make it easier for lawmakers to throw unwarranted temper-tanrums over state purchases.

Run Time:  00:08
Description: "I don't like what the Highway Patrol is doing so I am going to tell law enforcement that we don't trust you to do your job? And saying any time you wanna spend over 100 grand you gotta ask my permission."

The House also passed the Senate's bill that would order the Department of Revenue to quit scanning the personal documents you use to obtain a driver's license.

Wrap: The Missouri House passed what began as a Senate bill to prohibit the Department of Revenue from scanning, storing and sharing personal documents used to obtain a driver's license.

The House also passed a bill to require Nixon's appointed law enforcement officials to get the legislature's approval to buy vehicles carrying price tags of one hundred thousand dollars or more.

Farmington Republican Kevin Engler says the bill is needed to protect taxpayers from another 5.6 million dollar plane purchase.

Run Time:  00:08
Description: "It is this body's intent to make sure that the state patrol, with their fund for vehicles, does not go out and buy airplanes when it is not appropriate."

St. Louis City Democratic representative Mike Colona says the legislation will make it harder for officals to make purchases necessary to do their jobs.

The Republican-dominated Missouri House has passed a bill to address a controversial practice of democratic governor Jay Nixon's administration.
RunTime:  0:49

Wrap: Controversy erupted in Jefferson City this spring after a list of the state's concealed carry permit holders was shared with the federal government, and Nixon ordered his revenue department to quit scanning concealed-carry permits.

The Missouri House would like to take it a step further, and has passed a bill which would stop the state's revenue department from scanning, storing or sharing most personal documents you use to apply for a driver's license.

But St. Louis City democrat Mike Colona says the bill is just another temper-tantrum.

Actuality:  COLONA2.WAV
Run Time:  00:09
Description: "We have a history in this legislative session of throwing temper-tantrums, we're only gonna fund the DOR for 8 months because we're throwing a temper-tantrum, we don't like what's going on."

The bill has to go back to the Senate before it can head to the desk of the governor it targets.
