Lobbyist tries to make it harder for Missouri lawmakers to become lobbyists

Wrap: Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander approved a public petition to limit the amount of campaign money Missouri lawmakers and candidates can receive.

The petition would also require state lawmakers and their employees to wait two years after they leave office to register as a paid lobbyist.

St. Louis County Democratic Representative Rory Ellinger says he will vote in favor of the petition.

Columbia Democratic Representative Chris Kelly says this isn't the first time the people have petitioned to limit the influx of money, but the lawmakers repealed it.

Kelly says he supported it then and he still supports it.
