Wrap: The recent warm weather melted the left over snow from the huge snowstorm that hit mid-Missouri last month.
A MoDOT spokesperson, Holly Dentner, says the program will not create any extra costs because the pothole patrol is actually part of its normal budget.

Description: “We are just asking them to focus a little harder and respond a little faster than they normally... I wouldn’t even say what they would normally do, I would just say to focus a little harder repairing the potholes as fast as they can.” |
Dentner says once the weather warms up for good, MoDOT will replace the temporary pothole patches with permanent repairs.

Wrap: The recent warm weather melted the huge piles of snow brought in from the latest snowstorms, causing erosion and numerous potholes in the state's roads.
A MoDOT spokesperson Holly Dentner says the program will not create any extra cost because pothole repair is part of regular maintenance.
In St. Louis, Dentner says the department pledges to fix reported potholes within 24 hours.
Denter says other areas of the state do not have the manpower to commit to the 24-hour pledge, so the department will mainly focus on fixing the potholes as quickly as possible.

Description: “The patch that the crews use for the potholes is just temporary. Once it warms up over the summer months, they will go back with a more permanent patch process that will repair the road rather than just filling in that hole to smooth out the ride.” |
The head of MoDOT maintenance says no roads will be closed because the department will avoid fixing the potholes during times of heavy traffic.
