Wrap: House Democrats have introduced legislation to expand Medicaid coverage in Missouri, as the minority floor leader says if the House Speaker is serious about creating jobs, this is the way to do it.

Kerry Noble, a Southeast Missouri hospital CEO, says his hospital cannot keep shouldering the cost of uncompensated care.

But on the other side of the aisle, Jefferson City Representative Jay Barnes says there's no interest in the expansion amongst Republicans ,and he is working on legislation to change the current system. No details yet on that proposal.

Wrap: House Democrats introduced legislation to expand Medicaid health coverage for all Missourians with incomes under 138 percent of the federal poverty line.

The issue has been the center of talk in Jefferson City for months, ever since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled the expansion would be up to the states.

But Republican Jefferson City Representative Jay Barnes says  "NO" to the expansion, and he says "stay tuned" for his legislation that will change the current system.

Barnes says the state should deliver better care with the current system.

Wrap: After a University of Missouri Study indicated it would create up to 24,000 jobs, House Democrats are introducing Medicaid expansion legislation.

St. Louis Representative Jake Hummel, the minority floor leader says if the House Speaker is serious about economic development, this is the way to do it.

Webster Groves Representative Jeanne Kirkton says the expansion delivers positive human and economic impacts.  

Jefferson City Republican Jay Barnes says the expansion is still a no on his side of the aisle, and the state should work to deliver better care with it's current system.
