Wrap: It's been three days since the Senate began debating a bill that would provide medical compensation to workers who become partially or permanantly disabled on the job.

Lawmakers continue to struggle with the task of clarifying what is defined in the bill as "occupational diseases."

St. Louis County Democratic Senator Gina Walsh says the language should be completely removed from the bill.

Description: "Let's get a bill that addresses occupational diseases--no on second thought let's not do that--yeah, I just don't think it belongs here."

Republican Senator and bill sponsor Scott Rupp says they will try to reach an agreement over the weekend.

Wrap: After three days of debate, lawmakers still haven't reached an agreement on the Second Injury Fund bill.

Senators delayed any official discussion of the bill while lawmakers debated behind closed doors.

Republican Senator and bill sponsor Scott Rupp says they are getting closer to reaching an agreement since the debate began on Monday.

Run Time:  00:13
Description: "Tonight was the night we knew we were going to continue to walk down the path or if we had to diverge and go out seperate ways. So no agreements have been reached, but we're still on the same path."

Lawmakers will continue to discuss the bill with the governor and his staff over the weekend.
