Actuality:  PEARCE.WAV
Run Time:  00:06
Description: " I was just commenting to our county commissioners who were up here from back home that the Senate's working and the House was not working."

The Senate filibustered until around 1:30 in the morning regarding the workplace discrimination bill and then came back at 10a.m. to start again, all the while the House held a technical session.

Wrap: Missouri House Majority Leader Tim Jones is fighting back. He says the Senate should worry about themselves and leave the House alone.

His words come after Missouri State Senator David Pearce criticized the House for not doing its job.

Jones defended the House's slower work week saying there is no new legislation on the calender to debate.

Run Time:  00:08
Description: "I think the Senate should make sure that it is working on Senate business and leave the House to handle the business of the House."

He says a shortened work week is saving taxpayers a lot of money.

Wrap: Missouri House Floor Majority Leader Tim Jones says the House met for a technical session to save taxpayers money.

Actuality:  JONEST.WAV
Run Time:  00:03
Description: "The House can move as quickly or slowly as it needs to be; we're much more nimble in what we're able to do."

Despite a complaint by state senator David Pearce regarding the House not doing its job, Jones said the House started to debate two new bills.

Sponsors of these new bills have asked for the weekend to work on them.

With no new legislation to debate, for Jones, there's no reason to have a full floor session.
