Wrap: China Hub is back.

On Tuesday evening, the House committee on economic development unanimously passed the tax credits for freight forwarders on its own, which was part of the China Hub proposal last legislative session.

Bill Sponsor, St. Louis County Representative Mike Leara says the bill is designed provide tax credits to freight forwarders as a way to attract businesses to ship their products out of St. Louis rather than Midwest competitors like Chicago.

Actuality:  LEARA3.WAV
Run Time:  00:05
Description: "I believe this is the igniter to creating this type of a business out of our airport."

The tax credits would have a cap of 60 million dollars over eight years.

The bill now moves on to the House floor.
