Sichuan Missouri Univeristy is under Construction in Sichuan Province In China

As legislators in the Missouri statehouse argue over a China hub,a new campus is under construction in China to build cultural connections between Chinese and American students.

Wrap: Tian Fu College in China is building a new university in cooperation with the University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Missouri University of Science and Technology in Sichuan Province in China.

University of Missouri-St. Louis Chancellor, Thomas George says the project is a good cultural exchange between China and the US.

Although final approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education hasn't been given, George says construction has already begun.

George and the chancellor at Missouri S&T are planning to fly to Beijing in December to make the final decision with the president of Tian Fu College.

Wrap: The University of Missouri-St. Louis and the Missouri University of Science and Technology announced Wednesday their preparing to build a new campus and offer a variety of courses in Sichuan Province in China.

Director of Communications at Missouri S&T, Andrew Careaga says their campus will work with Tian Fu College in China to set up curriculum to assure its quality.

Careaga also says the proposed new campus will be an English-language university and teachers need to meet certain requirements to teach at the new campus.
