And she continues to run audits through the election cycle, unlike her predecessor Claire McCaskill.

During Montee's tenure as State Auditor, she's been responsible for auditing a lot of federal stimulus money.
Montee says being above party politics hasn't been the case in Washington and certainly isn't the case in Missouri.
But, she says she's ran her office in an independent way.
