Government hopefuls flood filing day.

Wrap: Hopefuls from across the state waited in long lines at the Secretary of State's office on the first day of filing.

Candidates included current Missouri Secretary of State, Robin Carnahan and Missouri Congressman, Roy Blunt, both contenders in the race for the U.S. Senate seat.

Blunt, fresh off his 'Jobs for Missouri's Future' tour bus, drew crowds outside.

Description: "Well you know, I announced a year ago that I was gonna run for the Senate. I've had three hundred campaign events in more than half the counties in the state since then. In fact we had two dozen events in the last four days as we started the first bus tour of the state."

On the other hand, Carnahan meandered the halls of the filing area discussing the need to alleviate gridlock in the Senate.

Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt, took a pit stop on his 'Jobs for Missouri's Future' bus tour to file and discuss issues he has touched on during the tour.

One candidate jogged from his hometown in order to file.

Another woman is the first female from her district to ever file for state representative.
