Missouri Governor Plans Trade Mission Abroad

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon will spend nearly a week in Asia to solidify trading of Missouri's exports. But the taxpayers aren't paying for this excursion. Amanda Macias has more from Jefferson City.

Wrap: Missouri exports such as soybeans and rice are among the products that Governor Nixon hopes to sell to Taiwan.

Nixon spokesman Scott Holste says the Governor will try to sell nearly six hundred million dollars worth of Missouri crops to Taiwanese businesses and industry groups.

The trade will last over a period of five years.

Governor Nixon's weeklong trip will be paid by the expense of a nonprofit organization called the Hawthorn Foundation.

Nixon will also visit troops stationed in South Korea and hold trade talks with Korean business leaders.
