Description: Are we going to form another layer of governance from the General Assembly? So is the General Assembly going to have to make these decisions? Are we going to create a board, a new body to oversee MIAC? Is this going to be appointed by the Governor?

Meadows asked that the call be kept in records for further discussion among either the Committee or the General Assembly.

Wrap: In a 6-3 vote the committee passed Representative Doug Funderburk's (fun-der-buRK)recommendation to create a new committee that would oversee the Missouri Information Analysis Center or MIAC.

Democratic Representative Tim Meadows opposed the measure, saying there needs to be more discussion about the issue.

Description: I wanted to roll that over so to speak. Let's get that debate out there on the floor. Let's talk about this, because I don't know if it's a necessary thing that we stand judge and jury, that the Missouri General Assembly have that type of power over these folks.

According to Funderburk, the goal of this committee would be to provide leadership, overall policy direction, and direct oversight of MIAC.
