Springfield representative Bob Dixon says his main priority as chair will be to encourage communication.

| Description: I come to the table really with a desire to listen to everyone who has needs around the state. And having not been on the committee before, I am actively pursuing visiting folks around Missouri, and specifically southwest Missouri, on all the needs and where we stand. |
Dixon says he also wants to focus on some of the more pressing issues, such as keeping Missouri's highways clear.

| Description: We want to make sure the traffic flow is uninterrupted. There may be some discussions about clearing wreckage in certain parts of the state in a more timely fashion because we don't have the same requirements all around the state, depending on whether you're in the urban areas or the rural areas. And we want to make sure there is easy access and modal choices. |
Dixon says his responsibility is to the entire state's transportation system, but he says he will not forget about Springfield's needs.

| Description: I'm not going to be someone who ignores other parts of the state because I think it's very important. We're all Missourians, and we need to make sure we have a good transportation system in each corner of the state and all around the state. But I'll be making sure that southwest Missouri and Springfield, in particular, has a voice in the committee. |
