New Task Force created to help auto industry.

Intro: Gov. Nixon named eighteen members to his new Automotive Jobs Task Force, which is now in charge of keeping Missouri's automotive industry alive.

The new Automotive Jobs Task Force is headed by CEOs, managers and a few line workers themselves.

Governor Nixon's spokesman, Scott Holste, says this force is just the thing to help Missouri's dire economy.

Republican Senator Scott Rupp says he commends the Governor's new plan of attack.

He says anything to help the auto industry, or the economy in general, is a worthy cause.

Gov. Nixon's new members in the Automotive Jobs Task Force do not have a first-time meeting scheduled yet, but Nixon's office assures that it will be sooner than later.

Republican Senator Scott Rupp says the new Task Force is an important step in turning Missouri's economy around.

Description: "The whole industry is very important to Missouri, so anything we can do to bolster it and shore it up and provide any assistance to make sure that the plants that we have stay open or hopefully if the economy turns around, especially in that industry, to recruit other plants."

Rupp also says anything to help get Missouri's economy back on track is a good thing to support.

And it's getting support, as he says no one is opposed to the Governor's new team.
