Attorney General candidate Jeff Harris urges Governor Matt Blunt to administer a more open government and have public records like emails accessible to the public.

Harris says the governor needs to stop playing politics and tell the people the truth.

Actuality:  HARR2.WAV
Run Time: 00:19
Description: "Who ordered the destruction of these emails? Why was the destruction ordered? What was in these emails? We deserve to know as taxpayers. And if this governor doesn't give us answers, doesn't give us answers now, then we gotta revisit this issue and we have to see whether he should serve the remainder of his term."

Representative Margaret Donnelley from St Louis area voiced similar opinions regarding the accessibility of these emails.

Democratic Representative from Columbia Jeff Harris voiced his strong support for the lawsuit against Governor Blunt for ordering destruction of emails and keeping them from being public records.

Attorney general candidate Harris says this lawsuit illustrates some very serious problems the current administration has.

Actuality:  HARR1.WAV
Run Time: 00:12
Description: "When you intentionally destroy or instruct someone to intentionally destroy government records, that is a real problem because it undercuts the very heart of our democratic system of government."

The lawsuit was filed by a special investigative team set up by Attorney General Jay Nixon.

But Republican attorney general candidate, Senator Pro Tem Michael Gibbons says this lawsuit reflects Nixon's political motivations to governor's office.
