This is Abigail Grimmett with the Nixon Campaign.

Just moments ago, Democratic Candidate for Governor Jay Nixon took the stage with his family to make his victory speech.

Nixon thanked his family, campaign staff, and volunteers as well as his opponent, Congressman Kenny Hulshof.

Nixon said he will now work to bring all Missourians together to focus on making changes within the state.

Nixon said Missourians restated his goals of governor, saying he plans to focus on creating new jobs, restoring healthcare, and decreasing the cost of higher education.

Nixon said people who stand against him will be in the way of these changes, adding that party labels must also be put to the side in order for a better Missouri.
