The House gave an immigration bill first round approval, reaffirming that illegals would not receive welfare assistance.

Eureka Democratic Representative Michael Frame says anyone opposing this bill would be infringing on their own rights and opportunities as a U.S. citizen.

Actuality:  BROWN3.WAV
Run Time: 00:08
Description: We pay an awful lot of taxes to live here and I've served in the military. I do public service. I've done everything that I think that a responsible citizen should do.

Frame argues illegal immigrants are taking the jobs away from Americans who deserve the positions most.

He says until the government cracks down on employers, Americans will see no end in the fight against illegal immigration.

The House gave yet another immigration bill first round approval.

This latest one would reaffirm that illegal immigrants can't get help from welfare.

One representative says Republicans are avoiding the real issue in the fight against illegal immigration.

Eureka Democratic Representative Michael Frame says the issue is not about the workers but their employers.

Actuality:  BROWN1.WAV
Run Time: 00:14
Description: Every bill that you've seen comes after the worker, and that's fine but there's always going to be someone else to replace that worker if the worker is deported or can't get services or whatever. There's always going to be another worker in line to do that because we refuse to go after the magnet that attracks these workers here in the first place.

Frame says the government needs to give employers hiring illegal immigrants an ultimatum, fire them or pay the fine.
