A bill that would make it legal for those over 21 to ride motorcycles without a helmet crashed in the Missouri Senate Wednesday.

Senate Bill Sponsor Luann Ridgeway asked colleagues to let the body vote on the issue.

Senator Chuck Graham told Ridgeway he'd filibuster until the bill was set aside.

Discussion of attempts in the House to oust the current speaker made their way into the Senate Debate.

Boone County Senator Chuck Graham.

Description: Mr. President I would move for the adoption of the amendment, obviously it's gotten quite dangerous here in the hallway probably more dangerous than riding a motorcycle down the interstate at this point and I just want to make sure the speaker of the house would survive and be ok by the time Friday at 6 p.m. rolls around.

Grahams amendment proposed that the Speaker of the House be required to wear a helmet during the last three days of the legislative session.

It was defeated by a vote of 21 to 4.
