LAURA NICHOLS HAS MORE FROM THE CAPITOL LAURA NICHOLS HAS MORE FROM THE JEFFERSON CITY. Regional Director for the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now Jeff Ordower said ACORN is not responsible for the voter registration fraud in Independence, Missouri.
Ordower said in the past few weeks there have been eighty-five duplicate registrations and thirty-five questionable addresses, but attributes them to a small number of dishonest employees.
He said ACORN is proactive in turning in suspected voter registration fraud.

Director of Elections for Jackson County Board of Election Commission Charlene Davis said ACORN hired people and paid them which resulted in forms with fictitious names.
Davis said the fraudulent voter registration cards will be turned over to the FBI.
