Intro: The Governor is in Mexico promoting Smartport, a transportation company linking Kansas City and Mexico, that has monetary ties to his election campaign.  Fanna Haile-Selassie has more from the Capitol.

The Kansas City Southern Railway Company is one of the major transportation companies involved in Smartport, an organization that would link Kansas City to Mexico for goods shipment.

Kansas City Southern started investing thousands of dollars into Blunt's election Campaign Missourians for Matt Blunt since 2003.

In a telephone News Conference from Mexico, Blunt praised the Kansas City Company and Mexico's Lazaro Cardenas.

Another interesting fact is that Warren Erdman, the UM systems new curator, was the contributor for the company.

New UM systems curator Warren Erdman was the contributor for the Kansas City Southern Railway Company when it began investing thousands of dollars into Missouri's Governor's election campaign.

Now Kansas City Southern is a major transportation company involved with Blunt's Smartport proposal.

Smartport is trying to connect Kansas City to Mexico to export Missouri goods.
