In addition to ruling on the injunction request, the judge will be asked to expand the lawsuit to cover all the thousands of former students who have loans with the program.

John Lichtenegger, one of the attorneys for the students, refused to be recorded, but said a number of students have already signed on to take part in the lawsuit.

Lichtenegger says he predicts the ranks of students participating in the lawsuit against MoHELA will grow considerably.... that is, if the case is ruled a class-action suit.

Lichtenegger would not disclose the number of students who have already signed up or the number of those students who have contacted him.

Reporting from the State Capitol, I'm Brandon Smith.
