State Capitol Bureau

Intro:  A Cole County Circuit judge hopes to have a decision on the Voter ID case at the end of next week.  Rachel Bunning has more from the state Capitol.

The Circuit Judge in Cole County heard arguments on the Voter ID law after a group of voters brought a lawsuit against the state of Missouri. The state, represented by the Attorney General's office defended the bill which they claim will reduce fraudulent voting.

Assistant Attorney General, Ryan Harding emphasized that any fraud is reason enough for change in the voting process.

Actuality:  COLE02.WAV
Run Time: 00:11
Description: The assistant attorney general gives examples of causes where fraudulent voting has occurred.

On the other side, the lawyer representing the group of voters who filed the suit said there is no evidence government issued photo ID's will reduce false voting.
