As most of us know, Claire McCaskill seeks the senate seat currently occupied by Jim Talent. Dan Frumson has more on the campaign trail.
Claire McCaskill addressed the media from her office in a press conference concerning her duties as state auditor.
However there was a buzz swirling around her campaign for U.S. Senate.
McCaskill says there is a clear difference between this campaign and the one she lost for governor.
"Well the issues are different. Clearly people are frustrated with what's going on in Washington D.C. Missourians are smart. They know the big oil companies are being taken care of. They know the big pharmacuticals companies are getting taken care of, and they're not.
Missouri Republican Party Spokesman John Handcock says that when voters hear the record of what Talent has done, they will be supportive of the senator.
From the State Capitol, I'm Dan Frumson.

Aside from his bid for the Missouri governorship, U.S. Senator Jim Talent has not lost an election, and doesn't want that to change. Dan Frumson has more on the campaign trail.
Talent's likely Democrat opponent is State Auditor Claire McCaskill.
She says Missouri voters are fed up with decisions and the lawmakers themselves in Washington.
"I think many Missourians are figuring out that their representatives in Washington are not looking after them. They're not on their side, they're on the side of people that sit in board rooms."
Missouri Republican Party Spokesman John Handcock says Talent's record speaks for itself.
"I think it's simply a matter of getting the message out about his outstanding record on behalf of the people of Missouri."
Handcock also says Talent is a leader for Missouri on a range of issues, including renewable energy, highways, and health-care.
