Insects could potentially devastate Missouri's forests

Intro: Missouri's Conservation Department is urging Missourians to help the state keep out harmful forest insects

The state agency is asking Missouri's to keep an eye out for two specific bugs threatening Missouri trees.

The warning comes as infestations of the non-native insects have hit forests in states to the east and north of Missouri.

Conservation Department Scientist Robert Lawrence says two insects in particular can devastate Missouri's forests.
