Jetton denies allegations of wrongdoing

The Speaker of the Missouri House vehemently denies he was paid off by strip club owners to help kill legislation that would negatively impact the sex industry.

Andrea Ramey explains why he says a campaign donation was ever miscontrued as a contribution for access.

That's how Speaker Rod Jetton describes an article the Kansas City Star printed last weekend.

The article implies strip club owners used cash to sway Jetton's handling of legislation that would negatively impact their industry.

They made a $35,000 donation to a fundraising committee closly associated with Jetton.

Contents: "I had no knowledge of any kind of donation to some outside committee. I've never even heard of any of those committees til this story broke in the Kansas City Star."

The article also says that four days after the contribution, Jetton assigned the bill to an unfriendly committee where it died.
