Parents May Have Right to Tape Children's Phone Conversations

Children in Missouri might have to be more careful about what they say over the phone. Dan Frumson has more from the state Capitol.

St. Charles Republican Sherman Parker is the sponsor of a bill that would allow parents the right to tape their child's phone conversations. Representative Parker says he's working out the bills details.

"I just want to clean this bill up before I push it for a final passage through the House before you know, we continue to move on it."

The bill would protect parents from current wiretapping laws if they suspect the child is in physical danger or participating in illegal activities. From the state Capitol, I'm Dan Frumson!

"The guidelines of you know of teenage life to a certain degree needs to be more restrictive to a certain degree you know, keep 'em out of trouble. Yeah, I think it gives parents the ability to be better parents."
