Missourians has faced gas price increases 25-cents or higer per gallong just overnight.
Attorney General Jay Nixon says an investigation into the wholesale and retail prices of gas will help safeguard Missouri drivers from greedy gas station owners.
Nixon said his office has reports of gasoline prices in excess of three-bucks per gallon.
Nixon's investigation had been requested by Missouri's governor.
