Missouri Insurance Department director Dale Finke says felons won't be allowed to issue bail bonds anymore. When the department discovered that several felons held licenses to issue bail bonds it decided to review all license-holders. Finke says so far, they've found at least 11 felons. Department spokesman Matt Barton says the department is taking legal action to stop their practice.
The Department of Insurance says the state Supreme Court makes it clear felons cannot issue bail bonds. From the state capital, I'm David Schneider.

The director of the Missouri Department of Insurance Dale Finke says he's going to revoke bail bonding licenses from convicted felons. Right now the department is reviewing all licensed bondsmen and has identified at least 11 felons. Insurance Department spokesman Matt Barton says these felons will have to find other work.

When the Missouri Department of Insurance discovered that felons were issuing bail bonds, it decided to revoke their licenses. Department director Dale Finke says the Missouri Supreme Court clearly states felons cannot be bail bondsmen. Finke says the Department of Insurance is reviewing all licensed bondsmen to weed-out the felons.
