Fast lane bill would keep trucks to the right

State Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Jon Dolan says he wants semis out of the left lane.

Dolan is sponsoring a bill that would make it illegal for trucks to drive in the left-hand lane on highways six lanes or wider.

Dolan says trucks slow down traffic.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says it supports the bill.

It says this is one of the most common complaints from drivers.

State Senate Transportation Committee Chairman Jon Dolan, the bill's sponsor, says the Highway Patrol would enforce the law.
