If MODOT gets its way, traveling from St. Louis to Kansas on I-70 would cost big bucks. Zack Ottenstein reports from the state Capitol.
The plan would institute tolls as high as 20 dollars to travel round-trip from St. Louis to Kansas City.
About six toll booths would spot the 250 mile interstate.
But Kevin Keith, a chief Engineer with MODOT, says this plan is far from complete.
Senate Transportation Chairman, Sen. Jon Dolan says the plan will have a tough road ahead of it in the legislature.

To get toll booths on I-70 would require an amendment to the Missouri constitution meaning a statewide vote.
But to get onto the ballots the plan has to get through the Missouri legislature.
Something it has failed to do for the past three years, and Sen. Jon Dolan, the Chairman of the Transportation Committee, says he won't be helping change that trend.
Under the plan it would cost as much as twenty dollars to travel round-trip from St. Louis to Kansas City.
