Gubernatorial candidate Claire McCaskill says rural Missouri has born the brunt of disappointment and unveils her plan as future governor to revive rural areas. Megan Clarke has the story.
McCaskill says "Missouri is a mess" and proposes creating the Office of Rural Missouri within the Governor's Office.
Saying that rural Missourians needs are being ignored, McCaskill says the new office would work as a liason.
However, McCaskill did not offer details on how much the new office would cost.
WE WILL TAKE A LOOK AT THE ENTIRE BUDGET OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AND MAKE ADJUSTMENTS WHERE WE NEED TO MAKE. IN ORDER TO MAKE SURE THIS POSITION IS PRIORITIZED.
McCaskill's plan also calls for $1.5 million to revamp how Missouri markets its agriculture products.

With the second-highest loss of farms in the country and a failing ethanol subsidies plan, McCaskill says that rural Missouri's needs are being ignored.
As part of her eight-point plan, she proposes creating the Office of Rural Missouri in an effort to revive crumbling rural areas.
McCaskill says Governor Holden has failed to follow through during difficult economic times.

McCaskill did not say how much the new Office of Rural Missouri would cost, but said the money would come from the budget of the Governor's office.
