. Gov.-elect Matt Blunt Announces Nominations to Office (11/23/04)

JEFFERSON CITY - During a press conference on Tuesday, Governor-elect Matt Blunt announced his nominations for positions in the Department of Revenue, the Public Service Commission and his gubernatorial staff.

Blunt nominated Trish Vincent for deputy secretary of state, Commissioner Jeff Davis as chairman of the PSC and Chuck Pryor to serve as his legislative director.

    . Missouri Democratic Leaders Discuss Party's Future (11/23/04)

    JEFFERSON CITY - Top leaders of the state Democratic Party met Tuesday to discuss framework for the future of the party.

    Democrats lost the number of statewide offices they hold along with losses in the House and Senate.

    Attending the session were the party's chair, Roger Wilson along with the three Democrats who will hold statewide offices in 200.

    JEFFERSON CITY - Higher education officials point to a tighter visa regulations as one of the reasons for the foreign student population decline in Missouri schools.

    . A legislative committee votes to crack down on high school keg parties. (11/23/04)

    JEFFERSON CITY - Parents who allow their homes to be used for under-age drinking would face criminal charges under a recommendation adopted by a legislative committee on under-age drinking.

    The panel also recommended allowing charges to be filed against a teen for being drunk. While current law makes it a crime for a minor to possess alcohol, it does not make it illegal to be intoxicated.

    The recommendations will be reported to the full legislature when it begins its regular session in January.
