The Governor of Illinois wants to purchase flu vaccines from Europe, now Missouri is looking to follow suit.
The Illinios Governor is asking for FDA approval to import flu vaccines from British wholesalers.
Illinios already helps residents import prescription drugs from Canada, Ireland, and the UK.
Governor Holden's spokesperson Mary Still says Missouri may follow Illinios' lead.

The Center for Disease Control has not announced whether Missouri will receive additional flu vaccines, so Gov. Holden is now looking for ways around the system. Bente Birkeland reports from Jefferson City.
Governor Holden will meet with Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich later this week to discuss alternative ways to obtain flu vaccines.

Department of Health spokesperson Sue Denny says the vaccine shortage is forcing states to get creative.
"People are looking to find flu vaccines right now and they're looking to find them any way they can."
Denny says the Department of Health has not been briefed on the governor's plans.
