Hello. During Missouri's 2004 legislative session, I worked as a correspondant in the state capitol for The Columbia Missourian, focusing on business and consumer issues. At that time, I was a junior majoring in jounalism at the University of Missouri. Before then, I'd also covered local government in Columbia, Missouri for the same newspaper.

• 2/ 2/2004: Newspaper Story - Republican lawmakers present plans to create an agency to advocate small business interests.
• 1/28/2004: Newspaper Story - A bill that would close a corporate tax loophole is ready for final passage in the House.
• 1/21/2004: Newspaper Story - Two issues deemed integral to the Columbia area by local legislators - restoring education funding and promoting life sciences -- topped the list of priorities in Gov. Bob Holden's state of the state address.
• 1/13/2004: Newspaper Story - A bill introduced in the Senate Wednesday would require more information to be gathered from businesses who receive government subsidies.
• 1/12/2004: Newspaper Story - This year begins the final year in Missouri's House for three Columbia-area legislators, and their circumstances are hardly conducive for going out with a bang. Boone County's state senator and two of its representatives to be outsted by term limits find themselves in the minority party, with limited power to push their legislation onto the top of the legislative agenda.
