Missouri gets over $3 million in federal grants to help fight meth production. Christine McCarty has the story.
Sixty Missouri law enforcement agencies and task forces will get funds to help stop Missouri's growing methamphetamine problem. Officials with the Missouri Sheriffs Methamapetamine Relief Team, also known as MOSMART, say that the counties will use the funds for anything from training to equipment. Shana Stribling, spokeswoman for Sen. Kit Bond, says the money will help Missouri's rural counties crack down on meth cookers.
Stribling says that Bond helped push for the funding and is trying to get another $2.5 million for next year. From the state Capitol, I'm Christine McCarty.
