The Senate budget committee passed both full year education budget bills to the floor, without one word of support for Governor Holden's request for a 90-day appropriation.
Senate budget chair John Russell says to his knowledge, the Governor does not have any legal authority to ask for a 90-day education budget.
Democratic Senator Wayne Goode added that although he believes the state needs more revenue, he doesn't think a 90-day education budget will the situation:
The Governor would not speculate about what he'll do if laemakers send him education budgets that are identical to the ones he already vetoed.
He would only say that he is considering all of his options.
