House has begun debate about teachers' role in improving education

The Missouri House has begun debate about teachers and school administrators being held accountable for the improvement of their schools.

Sonya Harper has more from Jefferson City

Missouri legislators held an indepth discussion about House Bill 1817. The bill would require teachers to write and file an accountability compliance statement. The statement would outline the schools problems and proposed solutions.

Bill sponsor Representative Richard Franklin says that this a plan of accountability, assistance and awards that will help Missouri schools.
