State senators Harry Kennedy of St. Louis and Sarah Steelman of Rolla asked the Governor to reconsider by proposing a resolution last week.

The Governor's project would allow truckers to use special customs checkpoints in Kansas City and Monterey, Mexico while bypassing the usual border crossings.

The Senators feel the project will make Missouri roads unsafe, while the Governor says the program will not compromise safety.
