Extended debate by St. Louis City legislators stalled a Senate vote on control of Lambert Field.

St. Louis City senators blocked a Tuesday afternoon vote that would merge the control of Lambert Field with neighboring counties.
Senator Gross of St. Charles County wants the surrounding region of St. Louis to have a voice in Lambert Field's board.
Senator Gross proposed legislation that merges members of St. Louis City and County, with members of St. Charles, Jefferson, and Franklin counties into one board for the airport.
His bill ran into opposition from St. Louis City senators Tuesday afternoon.

Senator Gross of St. Charles County wants St. Louis City to share and share alike.
He tried to get a Senate vote that empowers the St. Louis region with control of Lambert Field Tuesday afternoon.
He wasn't successful. Extended debate stalled the vote.
His legislation strips St. Louis City of its control of Lambert and shares it with surrounding counties.
St. Charles, Franklin, Jefferson, and St. Louis Counties, along with St. Louis City, would all have Lambert board representation based on population under Gross's proposal.
By those guidelines, both St. Charles County and St. Louis City would receive 2 board members. Jefferson County would have 1 representative, and as of now, Franklin County has none.

Senator Coleman's extended debate managed to keep the Senate vote off the floor for another day.
She wants St. Louis City to keep control of Lambert Airport. As she sees it, things have been working well for years, and there's no need to change.
Senator Coleman also says the concerns Lambert has dealt with involved all of Missouri, not just St. Louis City.
The proposal by Senator Gross of St. Charles County would give power to not only St. Louis City and County, but also St. Charles, Jefferson, and Franklin counties.
